Before you start
A flexible tape measure
Use a tailor's tape; a metal tape or string-and-ruler will throw the measurement off.
A helper
Have someone measure you if you can. Measuring without a helper, check in a mirror that the tape doesn't slip.
Thin clothing
Measure in thin underclothes and the bra you plan to wear on the day; thick fabric inflates the measurement.
A note on shoes
Take the height measurement in the shoes you'll wear; heel height directly affects the dress length.
Measurement steps
Our order flow asks for six measurements, plus two optional ones for a closer fit. Hold the tape neither tight nor loose, just touching the skin.
Bust
Measure around the fullest part of your bust, with your arms at your sides, horizontally.
Tip: We recommend measuring with a bra on.
Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. It is usually just above your belly button.
Tip: Stand straight without leaning forward or backward.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of your hips horizontally.
Tip: Keep your feet together.
Height
Measure from the top of your head to the floor, standing straight without shoes.
Tip: You can measure against a wall.
Shoulder to Floor
Measure from your shoulder point to the floor.
Tip: Measure with the heels you plan to wear with your dress.
Bicep
Measure around the fullest part of your upper arm.
Tip: Relax your arm while measuring.
Arm Length
Measure from your shoulder point down to your wrist.
Tip: Keep your arm slightly bent for a natural fit.
Skirt Length
Measure straight down from where you took your waist measurement to where you want the skirt to end. For floor-length styles, measure all the way to the floor.
Tip: Measure while wearing the shoes you plan to wear.
Things to Keep in Mind:
- • Use a non-stretch measuring tape
- • Don't pull the tape too tight
- • Measure in front of a mirror or with help
You can give your measurements in centimetres or inches — just keep them all in the same unit and tell us which you used.
What if I measure wrong?
Measurements aren't the final word — the fitting and alteration process makes up for any deviation:
